The DJI Air 3 bridges the gap between ultraportable consumer drones and high-end cinema machines. With two distinct cameras (a 1x wide angle and a 3x telephoto compression lens), pilots can create cinematic parallax shots that make subjects pop dramatically against distant mountain ranges or cityscapes.
Flight & Imaging Capabilities
- Dual primary cameras: 1/1.3-inch 24mm wide-angle & 70mm 3x medium telephoto
- Staggering 46-minute maximum flight time for extended filming sessions
- Omnidirectional obstacle sensing with APAS 5.0 and Smart RTH
- Dual 48MP photo capture and 4K/60fps HDR video on both cameras
- Battery charging hub with innovative power accumulation transfer feature
Pilot Flight Report: Pros & Cons
What Pilots Love (Pros)
- The 70mm 3x telephoto lens produces unmatched cinematic background compression
- Incredible 46-minute flight time rarely leaves you worrying about battery levels
- Superior wind resistance holds rock-steady in windy coastal conditions
- Identical color science across both primary lenses
Flight Limitations (Cons)
- Weighs 720g, requiring standard FAA recreational registration and Remote ID
- Larger airframe requires a dedicated backpack or carry case
"If you care deeply about cinematic framing and compression, the 3x telephoto lens on the Air 3 transforms aerial videography completely."
